Sketches for Your Eyes Only

These are some drawings I've done in the last couple weeks.

The Sharpie marker, with some graphite, i did last night in a rage of glory.

The simpler sketches (i.e. the baby, the hand, circle, etc.)
were done weeks ago.

You might have noticed I am rarely subtracting from the form and am primarily using addition to resolve my space.

I'm developing a relationship to my sketchbook, so when I have an idea, I can execute it without having to warm up to draw, i can just draw.

The fat Sharpie let me lay down bold demanding lines without hesitation. I am very attracted to the mark that never leaves, once its on the page, you've got to deal with it.

Please leave a comment and feel free to be as comfortably honest as you can.

Welcome to my first and only blog, i feel special.

just to let you all know, i am quite happy making lots of work at the evergreen state college. I am hoping to get some perspective on my work by talking about it every week (atleast once a week). I will posting thoughts about current work, inspirations (i.e. that cool drawing to the left, so awesome), images of my work, sounds of my work, and other things i think are cool.

I am part of a contract group with 9 other kids at evergreen(http://tomagicmountain.blogspot.com/)
and it goes like this:

"A group of students are banding together to create a small artistic community at evergreen. We will be doing independent work, with an emphasis on studio practice. There will be some shared readings based on the applicability to each artist respectively. There will be weekly seminars, critiques, and field trips to major art events such as First and Last Thursday in Seattle and Portland. Also there will be a community aspect to lend support to the other artists, this will include but is not limited to, movie screenings, and cultural happenings. At the end of the quarter we will host a show of our work."

(i'm pretty sure I butchered dalton's last name, ouch)

I am planning on keeping in touch with myself *lulz* for the rest of the quarter putting up photos of my work and videos of related shizznack, yay!

talk to yall lata,
